Police Shut Down Two Cannabis Clubs in Marbella
In a recent operation, National Police officers have successfully dismantled two cannabis smoking clubs in Marbella. These establishments were allegedly involved in the sale of marijuana, hashish, and ecstasy.
Three Arrested Including Club Managers
The operation led to the arrest of three individuals, aged between 23 and 33. The arrested individuals include the managers of the two clubs, further implicating the establishments in the alleged drug trade.
Substantial Drug Seizure in Puerto Banús Properties
The police operation extended to properties in Puerto Banús, where a significant amount of drugs were seized. The haul included 470 grams of marijuana, 280 grams of hashish, 54 grams of ecstasy, along with five weighing scales and 900 euros in cash.
Operation Initiated Following Reports of Drug Use
The operation was initiated by the specialised and violent crime unit based at the force’s headquarters in Marbella. The action followed reports of drug users in the vicinity of the two premises, which were registered as cannabis smoking associations.
Clubs Used as Drug Distribution Points
Investigators believe that the clubs under suspicion were used as a starting point to hide and subsequently sell “substantial quantities” of drugs on a small and medium scale to third parties.
Suspects Linked to Cannabis Promotion Associations
The suspects were reportedly members of two associations that promoted and encouraged the sale and consumption of cannabis derivatives. According to police investigators, these establishments had become notorious for the distribution of narcotics in Marbella.
