Marbella’s New Courthouse: A Step Forward
In 2020, the Marbella town hall allocated 13,000 square metres of land in La Torrecilla for the new court. The site, near the Ojén road, requires basic infrastructure such as water supply, sewage networks, electricity, telecommunications roads, and access.
Andalucía’s Record Regional Budget for 2025
In related news, Andalucía’s regional budget for the coming year is set to be the largest in history, with nearly 49 billion euros. José Luis Piedra reported that the Marbella town hall approved the payment of 18 million euros in four annual instalments, funded by the municipal coffers.
New Police Station in the Pipeline
These developments are also crucial for the establishment of a new police station in the town. The proposed location for the station is in the same area as the future court building.
Estepona Courthouse: Budget and Plans
The Junta de Andalucía’s 2025 budget also earmarks 131,677 euros for technical work preceding the construction of the courthouse in Estepona. The town hall has allocated land in the Las Mesas area to the regional body for this infrastructure.
Consolidation of Marbella’s Courts
The new building will accommodate all three courts currently in Marbella, including the Dean’s Office, the Prosecutor’s Office for the Marbella area, the civil registry, and the local law courts. At present, these three locations are situated on Avenida Juan Carlos I, Calle Delfín, and Avenida Puerta del Mar.
