Marbella to Host National Congress of Tourism and Social Media
Marbella has been chosen as the venue for the eighth National Congress of Tourism and Social Media. The event, scheduled for 17 May, is being organised by the Spanish association of hotel managers, AEDH, in collaboration with the town hall. The congress will take place at the Adolfo Suárez exhibition centre in the town.
Experts and Entrepreneurs to Discuss Online Tourism Promotion
The congress will serve as a platform for experts, professionals, and entrepreneurs from the tourism and social media sectors to discuss the latest trends and strategies in online tourism promotion. The event aims to shed light on the impact of new technologies, including artificial intelligence and social media, on the development and promotion of tourism destinations.
Marbella’s Leadership in Tourism and Innovation
The mayor of Marbella, Angeles Muñoz, expressed her gratitude to AEDH for choosing Marbella as the venue for the congress. She believes that the event will highlight the town’s leadership in the tourism sector and its innovative approach to the industry.
Marbella: The Best European Tourist Destination in 2024
Manuel Vegas, the president of the national association, expressed his excitement about bringing the event to Marbella, which was recently named the best European tourist destination in 2024 by EuropeanBestDestinations. He believes that the congress will not only strengthen Marbella’s position as a leading tourist destination but also provide valuable knowledge and skills to the participants.
Congress Programme and Additional Activities
The congress programme will feature mini-lectures, panel discussions, and round tables addressing topics such as digital marketing, the role of influencers in tourism, and the effective use of apps and web platforms to enhance the tourism experience. A fast-networking session accompanied by a coffee break will also be held to encourage idea exchange and collaboration among attendees. In addition, a ‘blogtrip’ will be organised in October, allowing participants to experience Marbella’s cultural, gastronomic, and natural richness through personalised tours.
