New Shooting in Marbella, Fifth in Just Over Two Months
A new shooting has occurred in the municipality of Marbella, marking the fifth confirmed incident in just over two months. The shots were fired on Saturday night in the Guadalmina area, in the district of San Pedro Alcántara, resulting in one man being injured. The alleged perpetrators are believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle that was later found abandoned on the A-7.
National Police Investigating the Incident
The National Police are investigating the new shooting that took place in Marbella on Saturday night, shortly after 9:30 pm. According to sources consulted by Marbella24horas, the shots were fired in a restaurant in the Guadalmina Shopping Centre, in the district of San Pedro Alcántara. This is the same area where a shooting occurred on October 28, 2023, which resulted in two people being injured by gunfire.
Alleged Perpetrators Fled the Scene
The alleged perpetrators are believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle that was later found abandoned on the A-7 motorway near Nagüeles. The gunshot victim, a 34-year-old man, was transported to the Costa del Sol Hospital and was later transferred to the Clinical Hospital of Malaga.
Fifth Confirmed Shooting in Marbella in Two Months
This is the fifth confirmed shooting that has taken place in Marbella in the last two months, specifically since February 10, which marked the beginning of this wave of violence. As a result, the National Police activated a reinforcement plan against organized crime on Thursday, April 11. Since then, the number of officers has increased, as well as random checks on vehicles and individuals.
Previous Shootings in the Municipality
This Saturday night’s incident is the fifth confirmed shooting in just over two months in the municipality. On February 10, a man was injured by gunfire on Yedras Street in Marbella, an incident that has already been clarified by the National Police. On March 11, shots were fired at a restaurant located on Juan Belmonte Street, where there were no victims. This incident has also been resolved. On March 16, another firearm incident in a restaurant area on José Banús Avenue resulted in one injury. And on April 2, a young man was injured with several bullet impacts after a clash between clans in the Los Naranjos urbanization in New Andalusia. In addition, on February 12, a shooting was reported in New Andalusia, although the police found no trace when they arrived, so it is not confirmed that it occurred.
