Tragic Road Accident Claims Woman’s Life in Marbella
A fatal road accident occurred in Marbella on Friday, 11 October, resulting in the death of a woman. The unfortunate incident took place around 2.30pm when the car she was a passenger in collided with the central reservation on the A-7 motorway at kilometre 1043. The driver was critically injured and was immediately rushed to the hospital, as per sources from SUR.
Emergency Services Respond to the Accident
Following the accident, several distress calls were made to the emergency services. Eyewitnesses reported that two individuals seemed to be trapped inside a McLaren sports car after it crashed into the median. The 061 emergency medical services, Local Police, Guardia Civil, and fire brigade were all dispatched to the scene.
Traffic Disruptions and Road Closure
The accident resulted in significant traffic congestion from Marbella towards Malaga. The DGT roads authority control centre reported that the left lane of the A7 had to be closed until the wreckage was cleared. By 5pm, a recovery truck had fully removed the vehicle from the road, and the lane was subsequently reopened to traffic.
Another Serious Accident on the A-355 in Coín
In a separate incident in the Malaga province, another serious accident occurred on the A-355 at Coín. A head-on collision between two cars resulted in injuries to two individuals. Firefighters from Coín had to extricate both drivers, a man and a woman, who were then transported to the Hospital Clínico de Málaga.
