Search Operation Yields Results: Body of Missing Paddle Surfer Found
The search operation has yielded results this Wednesday. Maritime Rescue has located the lifeless body of a man who had gone missing on Tuesday while paddle surfing in the area of Benajarafe, a locality of the municipality of Vélez-Málaga, on the coast of Axarquía. The deceased is a 53-year-old resident of Marbella, married with two children, who worked in the real estate sector.
Body Discovered in Caleta de Vélez
The body was found this Wednesday in Caleta de Vélez, also in the municipality of Vélez-Málaga, following the search operation that was launched on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Nicolás Notario Romero, a 53-year-old resident of Marbella, who had gone out to paddle surf in the area of Benajarafe.
Emergency Services Alerted After Man Failed to Return Home
When he did not return, his wife alerted the Emergency 112 service around 6:00 PM, which initiated the search operation. An alert was also activated through the SOS Disappeared Association. Maritime Rescue and the Civil Guard mobilized various vessels and also aerial resources such as helicopters and a plane, which continued the search on Wednesday until the lifeless body was located five miles away.
Body Identified as Missing Paddle Surfer
The rescue vessel Hamal transferred the body to the port for identification, and it turned out to be the missing paddle surfer, aged 53.
