Missing Hiker Found Dead Near Marbella
The body of a 48-year-old man, who was reported missing after embarking on a hiking trip in Ojén, close to Marbella, has been discovered. The confirmation of the tragic discovery was made by sources within Spain’s Guardia Civil police force to Europa Press.
Emergency Alert Raised on Sunday Midnight
The alarm was sounded at the stroke of midnight on Sunday. The 112 Andalucía emergency service coordination centre received a distress call indicating that a Finnish man, who had set out on a hike along the La Concha mountain route, had failed to return.
Search Operation Launched Immediately
Upon receiving the alert, emergency operators promptly initiated a search operation. The operation involved the combined efforts of the Marbella fire brigade, the Guardia Civil, and the National Police forces.
Body Taken to Malaga for Autopsy
The body that was recovered has been transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine located in the city of Malaga. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
