Armed Robbery in Marbella: Woman Threatened at Gunpoint
In a shocking incident, a woman was reportedly threatened with a firearm to coerce her into surrendering her valuables. The assault took place late at night near a shopping centre in the Elviria area of Marbella. Two masked men are said to have carried out the attack, which occurred at approximately 00:55 am on Thursday, 25 July, as confirmed by police sources to SUR.
Emergency Services Alerted to the Crime
The National Police were alerted to the robbery by a call to the 112 Andalucía emergency service. The caller reported that a woman had been robbed of her mobile phone, cash, and other valuables at gunpoint. SUR sources have indicated that the robbers did not physically harm the victim, who was able to call for help following the incident.
Robbers Flee the Scene in Dark-Coloured Vehicle
After committing the robbery, the culprits reportedly escaped in a dark-coloured vehicle. This incident has prompted the National Police Force to launch an investigation to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
Another Violent Incident in Elviria Area
Interestingly, another violent incident occurred in the Elviria area just a few hours prior to the robbery. This incident took place around 2pm on Wednesday, 24 July. A man in his 50s was ambushed from behind while carrying shopping bags after exiting a supermarket. Two individuals allegedly attempted to strangle him using the ‘mataleón’ technique.
Victim Escapes Thieves’ Grasp
According to sources, the victim nearly lost consciousness but managed to free himself from the thieves’ hold by elbowing his way out. The failed robbery attempt was reported to local residents in the area’s housing developments, advising them to take precautions against similar attacks.
