Satse Nursing Union Wins Elections at Costa del Sol Hospital Area
The Satse Nursing Union has emerged victorious in the union elections at the Costa del Sol Hospital Area, which includes hospitals located in Marbella, Mijas, and Estepona. These are the first elections to take place following the integration into the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) and the subsequent process of professional statutarization.
Over 128,500 Professionals Called to Vote in Union Elections
More than 128,500 professionals from the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) were called to vote in the union elections this Wednesday. Workers from all categories have chosen their representatives at the negotiation tables against the health administration. In the Costa del Sol Hospital Area, these were the first elections following the extinction of the health agency and integration into the SAS.
High Voter Turnout in Marbella and Surrounding Areas
In this part of the province of Malaga, which includes Marbella, 1,647 workers were eligible to vote, most of them from the Costa del Sol Hospital. A total of 1,225 exercised their right to vote, resulting in a high participation rate of 74.38%. Eight union organizations were running, seven of which have obtained representation in the new Personnel Board.
Satse Nursing Union Receives Majority of Votes
The Satse Nursing Union received the highest number of votes (275), granting them five members in this body. The Workers’ Union (USO), with 211 votes, and the Andalusian Medical Union (SMA), with 194, each secured four. Following them were Workers’ Commissions (3), CSIF (3), UGT (2), and Teccel (2). The Federation of Health Technicians and Professionals (TFPS) did not manage to secure a spot on the Personnel Board.
