Marbella to Implement Marbella Low Emissions Zone
In a bid to reduce car usage and lower pollution, Marbella, like many other Spanish cities, is set to introduce its own ZBE, or low-emissions zone. The initiative was given the green light by Marbella City Hall on October 10 and will be enforced in the historical quarters of Marbella and San Pedro Alcantara.
Environmental Badges for Vehicles in Marbella Low Emissions Zone
Vehicles with environmental badges in categories B and C, which include low-polluting petrol or diesel cars, as well as ECO (hybrid) or CERO (electric) vehicles, will be permitted to circulate in these areas. However, vehicles that do not meet these criteria will face penalties on Marbella Low Emissions Zone. Initially, fines will not be imposed, with authorities simply notifying offenders of their rule violations.
