Seven Arrested in Marbella for Distributing Counterfeit Notes
In a recent crackdown, the National Police have apprehended seven individuals in Marbella who were allegedly involved in the distribution of counterfeit notes. The operation led to the seizure of a total of 107 fraudulent bank notes, which the European Central Bank has classified as being of ‘high quality’.
High-Value Counterfeit Notes in Circulation
The detainees were reportedly caught using notes with a face value of 500 euros. These counterfeit notes have been traced back to their origin in Bulgaria. The police have identified 25 instances where these notes were used, with betting and clothing shops being the primary targets.

In related news, fraudsters have been reported to have stolen homes worth over €3 million from deceased individuals on Spain’s Costa Blanca. In another incident, people were tricked into providing their credit card details to a fraudster who then used them at a brothel and hotel on Spain’s Costa Blanca.
Investigation into Crypto Exchange Globix
In a separate development, liquidators are currently investigating whether the crypto exchange Globix was involved in fraudulent activities or was operating as a Ponzi scheme. The CEO of the company has reportedly fled to Barcelona.
