Shooting at Marbella Nightclub Leaves Two in Critical Condition
In a shocking incident, a woman and an Irish man are battling for their lives following a shooting at a nightclub in the Costa del resort of Marbella. The incident occurred on Sunday night and has left five people hospitalized. The shooting took place at the Opium Beach Club on the Paseo Marítimo de Marbella around 1am on Monday morning.
Chaos Unleashed in VIP Section
The shooting led to a chaotic scene as clubbers scrambled for safety after hearing gunfire in the VIP section of the nightclub. Thalia Robles, a 22-year-old holidaymaker from London, shared her terrifying experience. She was separated from her friends amidst the chaos and feared she would never see them again.
Shooting Incident Captured on Social Media
The mayhem was captured and shared on social media by several witnesses. One of the posts showed the aftermath of the shooting at Marbella Opium, expressing shock at the unexpected violence.
Victims Rushed to Costa del Sol Hospital
Five people were taken to the nearby Costa del Sol Hospital. Four of them had gunshot wounds while the fifth, believed to be the gunman, had stab wounds to his head and chest. The alleged shooter is currently under police guard at the hospital and his condition is reported to be stable.
Shooter Identified as Dutch National
According to a spokesperson from Policia Nacional, the shooter is originally from Holland. It is believed that he opened fire after being stabbed.
Victims in Intensive Care
The 32-year-old woman is in intensive care after undergoing surgery and is reported to be in a serious condition. An Irish man, also 32, is being treated in intensive care. Two other men are said to be recovering well.
Other Victims Recovering
Hospital authorities confirmed that an 18-year-old man who was shot in the left hip and a 40-year-old man who was shot in the back are both recovering well. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but further tests are awaited.
