Belgian Fugitive Linked to Brutal Stabbing Captured on Costa del Sol: A Riveting Chase Ends

On Monday, 20 November 2023, a 21-year-old man, who was on the run for severely injuring an individual by stabbing them in the groin in Belgium, was apprehended in Marbella, Spain. The arrest was made by the National Police in the Costa del Sol town, acting on a European arrest and extradition warrant issued by Belgian authorities. The man was sought in connection with a violent assault that took place in Denderleeuw, Belgium in August of the same year. According to the National Police, the victim was accosted by two unidentified attackers, one of whom punched him twice before the other stabbed him in the abdomen. The assailants subsequently escaped in a vehicle after the attack on 7 August.
