Marbella’s First International Bach Festival Continues with Third Organ Concert
The first International Bach Festival in Marbella is progressing, with the third organ concert scheduled for the upcoming Sunday, December 10. The festival, which began in late October, will continue until next summer. Tenor Arturo Garralón Pérez will perform, with Jesús Sampedreño Márquez on the keyboards.
December’s Concert: A Liturgical Music Festival
This month’s concert, the last of the year and the closest to Christmas, will take place on Sunday, December 10, starting at 5:00 PM at the Church of the Incarnation in Marbella. Jesús Sampedro, a professor at the Superior Conservatory of Seville, will be at the organ, and tenor Arturo Garralón will also be present.
Program Includes Works from Various Composers
The program for this event will feature works by Bach, as well as other composers such as Mariani, Mendelsshon, Falla, Vivaldi, and Ramírez, among others. Entry to the church will be free, but donations are requested to cover expenses.
Previous Concerts and Upcoming Performances
The first concert of this cycle took place on October 22, 2023, featuring organist Gereon Krahforst and María Laach. The next performance was on November 12, 2023, by Josep Solé Coll, the First Organist of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. Six more concerts are scheduled for 2024, featuring performers from Russia, Spain, Germany, and Italy.
