A new multi-functional area is being proposed for Plaza de la Ermita del Calvario in Marbella. The project contract has been opened for bidding with a starting budget of 420,000 euros and a projected completion time of six months. Companies interested in bidding can do so online via the State Contracting Platform until 2 January 2024.
Diego López, the councillor for works, stated that the project will be situated near the town’s 18th-century Franciscan chapel, the starting point for the holy week procession in honour of Our Lady María Santísima del Calvario. He mentioned that the new area could potentially be used by the brotherhood for storage purposes.
López emphasized that the design of the project will maintain the aesthetic of the original religious building, while also enhancing the landscape and mirroring the surrounding architecture. He further stated that the town hall is consistently looking for ways to optimize available spaces and facilities for various public services, with the ultimate goal of delivering high-quality public services that meet the needs of the community.
