Age Concern Marbella / San Pedro to Host Gala Dinner Dance for Charity
Age Concern Marbella / San Pedro is set to host a gala dinner dance at the Guadalmina Golf Club on 17 May. The event is part of the charity’s efforts to support two of its primary objectives for the year.
Supporting Social and Activity Centre Development
One of the charity’s main goals is to sustain and further develop its social and activity centre located in San Pedro Alcántara. The centre offers a wide range of services and activities, including learning new technologies, coffee mornings, and exercise classes.
Expanding the Hardship Fund
The association also aims to expand its hardship fund, a service designed to provide temporary financial assistance to those in need. According to spokesperson Steve Marshall, the initiative will follow strict criteria to prevent misuse of the fund. Assistance will be a one-time offer for a specific need, and applications will only be accepted from expats registered in the Marbella area.
Providing Support to Those in Need
Despite being a small charity, Age Concern Marbella / San Pedro already supports several individuals by covering their membership fees to Helicopteros Sanitarios, a home doctor service. This is due to their limited resources and health conditions that require the security of a home doctor service. However, Marshall acknowledges that there is still much more that needs to be done.
