Vázquez Cultural’s Starting Eleven in the Match that Sealed Their Promotion

The youth team of Vázquez Cultural has managed to secure their return to the Honor Division this matchday after thrashing Puerto Malagueño 4-0. This marks their third promotion to the highest national category at this age level. The season has been a standout one for Carlos Sánchez’s pupils, who confirmed their promotion with three matchdays left in the National League.

Not Missing Another Chance for Promotion

After missing out on celebrating their promotion in the final minutes of the previous matchday, Vázquez Cultural did not want to miss another opportunity this Saturday, especially in front of their fans. The atmosphere at the Carlos Sánchez Navarro field was festive, supporting a team and a club that can now boast of having achieved three promotions to the highest category and having played five consecutive seasons in the Honor Division in the last decade.

Breaking the Deadlock and Sealing the Victory

After a few initial minutes of sizing up their opponent, a Puerto Malagueño team settled in the mid-table, Vázquez managed to break the deadlock in the 20th minute thanks to a goal scored by Moru. The goal served to calm the nerves of a group of players who, under the guidance of Carlos Sánchez, have had a brilliant season. Before the break, Adama and David Jiménez scored two more goals to seal the match. The celebration could already be felt on the Marbella field, with the promotion goal in sight.

Returning to the Honor Division

In the final stretch of the match, Theo Vorenkamp scored the definitive 4-0, marking Vázquez Cultural’s return to the Honor Division. Without a doubt, it’s a date to remember for the Marbella team, which shines again with a promotion to the highest youth category and confirms itself as one of the best youth academies in Malaga football.

Looking Forward to the Next Season

The next season will be the seventh that Vázquez Cultural plays in the Honor Division, with their best streak being between 2018 and 2023 when they chained five consecutive seasons in this category. Now, under the leadership of Carlos Sánchez, and after only one year in the National Youth League, the green team returns to the Honor Division and still has a chance to do so as group champions, as they are only three points behind the leader, Málaga B.

History of Promotions

The club first ascended to the Honor Division in 2011, also under the guidance of coach Carlos Sánchez, who is now repeating his success. On that occasion, the team could only stay one season in the top category as they were relegated. They returned to the top in 2018, with Carlos Guzmán at the helm, and this time managed to stay among the best for five campaigns. Now, after only one season in the National League, they have achieved their third promotion.

Historic Circumstance in the 2022-23 Season

In the 2022-23 season, there was a historic circumstance of having two teams from the municipality in the Honor Division, as Marbella FC was also there. This could happen again for the 2024-25 campaign, but for that, the whites have to secure their survival, which they are currently fighting for.
