Marbella Town Hall Launches Major Campaign to Attract American Tourists
Marbella Town Hall is setting its sights on the American tourist market with a large-scale promotional campaign set to take place from 2nd to 8th December in New York. The campaign will feature advertisements showcasing the beauty of Marbella, projected on screens in iconic New York locations such as Times Square and the Hudson Yards shopping centre.
Strengthening Ties with the American Market
Laura de Arce, the head of tourism, stated that this campaign is one of the most significant in recent years. Its primary goal is to foster loyalty among American visitors and strengthen the relationship with the American market. The initiative, part of the Plan de Grandes Ciudades de Andalucía, will be supported by local businessmen from the hotel and catering sector.
Targeting High-Purchasing Power Tourists
De Arce noted that there has been a clear increase in tourists from the United States, a market that is attractive due to its high purchasing power and year-round travel habits. The campaign aims to consolidate this growth, similar to the success seen with British tourists.
High Visibility in Times Square and Hudson Yards
In Times Square, the promotional videos will be projected on six screens every 100 seconds, each lasting for ten seconds. At Hudson Yards, the advertisements will appear on 59 screens, both inside and outside, every three minutes and will last for 15 seconds.
Promotional Event with Travel Industry Representatives
The promotional campaign will be supplemented by an event involving agencies and tour operators. On 3rd December, a meeting will be held with representatives from the US travel industry, including over 60 companies from the sector and members of the diplomatic corps.
Increasing Interest from North American Tourists
Since the Solheim Cup in 2023, interest in Marbella from North Americans, including those from the USA and Canada, has been on the rise. Data shows a steady increase in the number of tourists from these countries, with many showing interest in high-end real estate investment and owning holiday homes in the town.
