Monday Night’s New Edition of “A Fondo”

The participants of this Monday’s new edition of the discussion program “A Fondo” are ready to take the stage. As with every Monday night, the television discussion “A Fondo” graces the screens of local networks, providing information, analysis, and opinions on current events in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara. The main topic on the table this week is the issues facing public education in the municipality. Unemployment data, mobility, and corruption will also be discussed.

Birth of an Audiovisual Project

This audiovisual project was born in 2022 from the collaboration between two television stations, M95TV and 7TV, and the digital platforms Marbella Hoy and Marbella24horas. The goal is to analyze the political, economic, social, and cultural current events of Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara every Monday. The discussions are led by various participants in a brave and critical manner.

This Week’s Participants

This week’s edition, moderated by Ignacio Reyes, features a team of participants including activist Carmen Varo, lawyer José Cosín, teacher José Manuel Beltrán, and journalist Juan Carlos Angulo. The debate can be followed this Monday from 21:00 hours on 7TV and around 22:30 hours on M95TV. It will also be available on the YouTube channel of Marbella24horas.

Opening Discussion on Public Education

The debate will open with a segment on the problems of public education in the municipality. First, the demands of the Vargas Llosa and Fernández Mayoralas schools for an additional line for 3-year-old children will be discussed. Additionally, the situation of the Guadaiza institute in San Pedro Alcántara, which has been without a janitor or administrative staff for two years, will be addressed.

Unemployment Data and Contract Analysis

Next, the unemployment data from April and the large number of indefinite contracts, well above the Spanish average, will be analyzed. A new section will be introduced featuring the topics of Francisco Gutiérrez and his view on street problems.

Mobility and Corruption Issues

Afterwards, mobility will be discussed with the PSOE’s proposal in the plenary for the City Council to request ownership of the A-7 highway from the Government. To conclude, the corruption sentences from the GIL era and how much money has been recovered for the municipal coffers will be discussed.
