Massive Police Operation at Marbella Beach Club
On the afternoon of Saturday, 25 May, a large-scale police operation took place at a party at a Marbella beach club. The National Police deployed a dozen vans and a helicopter for the raid at the Ocean Club in the Nueva Andalucía area.
Surprise Arrest at Beach Club Party
According to SUR, at least one person was taken into custody during the event. The arrest took place amidst a crowd of party-goers, many of whom were taken aback by the sudden police presence. Officers, some in full uniform and others identifiable only by their police vests, arrived in vehicles that pulled up outside the venue on Avenida de Lola Flores.
Police Conduct Routine Check Amidst Party Atmosphere
Upon entering the club, the officers announced that they were there to conduct a routine check and assured those present that there was no cause for alarm. They remained at the club for approximately two hours. The heavy police presence was a surprise not only to the club patrons but also to the residents of Nueva Andalucía, who noticed the National Police helicopter involved in the operation.
Details of Arrest Remain Unclear
While it has been confirmed that at least one arrest was made during the raid, the reasons behind the arrest have not been disclosed. Police sources have stated that the operation was part of the routine actions under the ‘Marbella Plan’.
The Marbella Plan: A Strategy Against Crime
The ‘Marbella Plan’ is a strategy initiated in April to combat both organized crime and common delinquency. As part of this plan, reinforcements have been brought in for the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) and the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) from various police stations in eastern Andalucía. The plan also includes the use of police dog units and aerial resources to bolster security in the area.
