Introduction of the San Pedro Cross with a New Date This Year
The San Pedro Cross is set to make its debut this year with a new date. The Las Medranas Park will once again host the popular race. This 32nd edition of the race is included in the Provincial Cross Country Circuit. The registrations for the race closed last Monday with nearly 300 athletes ready to start this upcoming Saturday, April 6th.
The 32nd Edition of the San Pedro Cross
The 32nd edition of the San Pedro Cross will take place on Saturday, April 6th at the Las Medranas Park in San Pedro. This race has become a classic event in the municipality’s sports calendar. The registrations for participation in the race closed last Monday with a total of 285 registered athletes, prepared to compete in a circuit that mixes various surfaces, making it a very demanding race.
Competition Details
The competition will kick off at 10:30 am with the sub-18, sub-20, and all male Masters categories, who will have to cover a distance of 5,500 meters. Following this, it will be the turn of the same categories for women who will run 4,000 meters. From there, it will be the turn of the younger categories who will adapt the distance between 4,000 meters for the sub-16 and 500 meters for the sub-8.
Senior Races
Lastly, after 1:00 pm, it will be the turn of the senior races for the sub-23 and seniors, both male and female. The course for this last category will be 7,500 meters. This race is included in the Provincial Cross Country Circuit.
Later Date for This Year’s Race
The race, which is being held later this year than in previous editions, counts towards the final provincial classification in a total of fifteen modalities ranging from prebenjamines to Master 60.
