Marbella City Council Opens Application Period for 2024 Grants
The Marbella City Council has initiated the application period for the 2024 grant call for neighborhood associations, federations, and civic entities. These groups, which largely refrain from criticizing the ruling PP government team, will share a total of 94,500 euros in public funds.
Anticipated Aid and Increased Funding
This year, the aid is being anticipated as it is usually announced in August, but now the application deadline is set for April 18. The total amount to be distributed is 94,500 euros, an increase of 20% from the previous year.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
Applicant associations must be registered in the Municipal Register of Entities, a standard requirement. In a new development, the maximum amount each group can apply for has been increased from 8,000 to 9,000 euros, representing a 12.5% increase. Therefore, there will be more money in the general distribution and also more for each specific association.
Increased Grant Amounts Based on Requested Concepts
The maximum amounts that can be requested, which have also been increased, will be based on the requested concepts. Specifically, 5,000 euros for socio-educational workshops; 8,000 euros for social interest activities; 5,000 euros for operating and maintenance expenses, and 1,200 euros for inventory material. There is a wide variety of concepts and activities that can be subsidized through programs, events, and services that the entities can develop.
Characteristics of the Beneficiary Groups
Most of these groups are characterized by their lack of criticism of the actions of the government team and their failure to channel the concerns of the residents.
