Marbella City Council’s Urban Planning Department Launches New Initiatives

The Urban Planning Department of Marbella City Council has launched two new responsible declarations in urban planning this morning. The aim is to simplify administrative procedures and expedite licenses, backed by the new Andalusian decree. The government team has also announced that they are working on a new urban planning ordinance.

Weekly Press Conference Focuses on Urban Planning

The usual Tuesday press conference, following the Local Government Board meeting at Marbella City Council, was dominated by urban planning issues. The person responsible for this area was present. Two new responsible declarations were announced, born after the simplification decree of the Andalusian Board.

New Declarations Concerning Demolition and Land Movement

One of the declarations concerns the total or partial demolition of buildings and constructions that are not subject to historical heritage protection. The other relates to earth movements and land clearing in urban areas that are not in archaeological zones or servitudes. The Urban Planning Delegate, José Eduardo Díaz, also pointed out that they are working on a new urban planning ordinance.

Recognizing Rating Agencies as Part of Simplification Efforts

One of the goals is to recognize rating agencies, a new figure contemplated in the administrative simplification decree, as well as the documents or licenses that emanate from them. It was specified that these could be private entities declared as rating agencies or professional associations. It was highlighted that “they certify projects or licenses that we will recognize as valid, which will greatly streamline and simplify procedures.”

New Licenses Approved by Local Government Board

The Local Government Board approved two licenses this morning. One of them is for the basic project for the partial change of use of a total of five floors in the Single Homes building, which the Quirón Hospital in Marbella will use for non-hospital medical use. Similarly, a detailed study of the plot located on Jardín de los Pinos Avenue, in Pinomar East, was given the green light. Several instructions on administrative streamlining that is being carried out were also communicated.
