Annual End of Summer Concert by Cudeca to Honor Legendary Musician Bebo Valdés
Cudeca is set to host its yearly end of summer concert on Thursday, 12 September, at the Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic gardens in Marbella. The event will be a tribute to the late, great musician Bebo Valdés.
Renowned Bassist and Talented Pianist to Grace the Stage
The concert will showcase the talents of acclaimed bassist Javier Colina and gifted pianist, ‘Cucurucho’ Valdés. The latter is the grandson of the globally recognized Cuban pianist and composer, Bebo Valdés, who was a longtime supporter of Cudeca and passed away in 2013.
Javier Colina’s Notable Collaborations
Javier Colina had the privilege of working with Bebo Valdés for over ten years. His noteworthy collaborations include the album Lágrimas Negras, with flamenco singer Diego El Cigala (2003), and Bebo Valdés and Javier Colina – Live at The Village Vanguard (2005).
Cucurucho Valdés’s Impressive Musical Journey
Cucurucho Valdés has had an illustrious career, recording and touring with numerous musicians, including Isaac Delgado, El Cigala, Rubén Blades, and his father, Chucho Valdés.
A Unique Musical Evening
The concert promises to be a unique musical evening, featuring a part of the repertoire recorded as a duo by Bebo Valdés and Javier Colina at the esteemed Village Vanguard in New York.
Ticket Information
Tickets for the concert, which begins at 8pm, are priced at 30 euros. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Cudeca hospice.
