Antonio Machado School in Marbella: Viability of Bus Stop Under Review
The Andalusian Government has acknowledged on Wednesday that it is currently assessing the feasibility of the existing bus stop at Plaza de Toros for students attending Bahía de Marbella Institute. A decision will not be made until all applications for places have been processed by the end of March, they assure.
Response to Accusations from PSOE
The Territorial Delegation of Educational Development and Vocational Training in Malaga has responded today to what they describe as accusations from the PSOE, which are actually from the parents in the Plaza de Toros neighborhood. Last Monday, they requested that free transportation be maintained for students from Antonio Machado School who will start secondary education next year at Bahía Marbella Institute.
Assurances from the Andalusian Government
The Andalusian Government states that there has never been any consideration of eliminating the referred school transport line. They are simply studying the feasibility of the existing stop at Plaza de Toros for students attending Bahía Institute, which is essentially what was reported. They remind that this is a service that has been provided since 2020 in an “extraordinary” manner and criticize the PSOE for their lack of rigor and knowledge.
Planning and Provisional Information
The Andalusian Government explains that the feasibility study is part of the ongoing planning tasks. Therefore, throughout March, places are requested at various educational centers and until that process is completed, there will be no reliable data. They also state that the information sent to educational centers is always provisional and will become official once the data is consolidated.
Call for Calm Among Families
Finally, in their statement, they ask families to remain calm and assure them that the decision will be communicated to them directly with the utmost guarantees that the service will be covered.
