False Ceiling Collapse at Leganitos Health Center
The false ceiling of a waiting room on the first floor of the Leganitos Health Center in Marbella collapsed last Wednesday. The Andalusian Board clarified that there were no personal injuries to either users or professionals, and that technicians are currently assessing the situation to determine the cause.
No Injuries Reported
According to information provided by the Costa del Sol Primary Care District, there were no users in the waiting room at the time of the accident, so no injuries were reported. The six doctors who were on that floor immediately moved to the ground floor. The area is currently cordoned off and work is underway to reorganize the consultations.
Assessing the Damage
The District expressed regret over the incident, which fortunately did not affect users or professionals. Experts are already working to establish the causes and repair the damage as soon as possible.
History of the Leganitos Health Center
The Leganitos Health Center was inaugurated in 1973 and was the first in Marbella. In 2018, the Board allocated 60,000 euros for expansion works after accepting the free transfer, by the General Treasury of Social Security, of the adjoining premises of 244.5 square meters. Six new consultations, a waiting room, a small warehouse, and a new entrance with a ramp were created to facilitate the accessibility of people with mobility problems. In 2021, under the PP government, another expansion of the outpatient clinic was announced, about which nothing is known at the moment.
