Marbella RC Hosts Rainy Holy Week Activities

Last Holy Week, Marbella RC’s facilities were bustling with activity despite the rain. Over 600 athletes participated in the events organized by the Marbella Rugby Club during the week.

International Rugby Schools and Harlequins Camp Participants Join the Fun

A total of six international rugby schools, four from other parts of Spain, and 86 participants from the Harlequins camp in London visited the Roberto Osborne facilities during Holy Week. Rugby, the fastest-growing sport in the world, was clearly the highlight in Marbella during Holy Week, with a large turnout of participants from all over Europe.

Rain, Mud, Friends, and Fun Define the Week

The saying “in bad weather, put on a good face” was proven true as participants enjoyed the sport even in the rain, proving that there’s no such thing as bad weather in rugby, only more fun. Rain, mud, friends, and lots of fun undoubtedly summed up the week.

Marbella Rugby Club Continues to Promote Activities

For several years now, the Marbella Rugby Club has been promoting these types of activities during the big week, which undoubtedly benefits the various teams of the entity to compete with foreign clubs and thus raise the level of play.

Preparing the Academy for Andalusian Leagues

In April, the M14, M16, and M18 categories are immersed in the final stages of the Andalusian leagues, where they have chances to win the title in all categories. The School categories will compete in the Andalusian Championships at the end of the month, with the M12 category in Jerez de la Frontera and the M6, M8, and M10 categories in Níjar (Almería).

Spanish Championships Await in May

In May, they will travel to the Spanish Championships in various locations across the country. The M18 category will travel to Valencia, the M16 and M14 categories will travel to Valladolid, the M12 category will go to Sotogrande, and the youngest, M6, M8, and M10, will go to Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid).

Seven Players Called Up for Andalusian Selection

It’s worth noting the call-up of seven players to the Andalusian selection of the M14 category, who will compete in the final phase for the Spanish Championship of autonomous selections against the selections of Catalonia, Madrid, Castilla León, and the Valencian Community, on April 6 and 7 in Seville.

Marbella Rugby Club Sponsors Events

All these events, trips, and activities are financed by the Marbella Rugby Club, which has the main sponsorship of AEDAS Homes, Coffee King, and Hormitech.
