New Firefighters Join Marbella City Council
The Marbella City Council has welcomed 16 new firefighters into its ranks. The new recruits were officially sworn in on Thursday, following the completion of their training period at the academy and passing the competitive examination.
Expansion of Firefighter Force
According to the data provided, the current team consists of 88 members, with plans to expand further with a new call for applications. The council anticipates having nearly a hundred members by the end of this year, through a call for another ten open firefighter positions, as well as four leadership roles through internal promotion, including three corporals and a sergeant.
Firefighters’ Significant Role in Community
Mayor Ángeles Muñoz emphasized the significant role the firefighters play not only in extinguishing fires, but also in rescues, accidents, and prevention. Their work extends beyond the municipality to the province of Málaga, and even to international disasters. She also highlighted the immediacy with which they carry out their duties and stated that everyone should feel satisfied and proud of our team, a sentiment that is constantly reinforced by the ongoing expressions of appreciation they receive after their interventions.
