Teenager Rescued from Marbella Port by Fire Brigade
In a daring rescue operation, members of the Marbella Fire Brigade successfully extricated a 19-year-old male who was trapped among the concrete blocks of the western breakwater at La Bajadilla fishing port. The young man, who was suffering from a head wound, was discovered in a restricted area of the port on Wednesday evening around 9pm.
Emergency Services Mobilised for Rescue Operation
Upon receiving information about the accident, emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. The response team included two fire engines, four firefighters, two crew chiefs, local police, and ambulance crews. The young man was reportedly in an area of the port where public access is prohibited, and was unable to free himself from his predicament.
Rescue Personnel Overcome Obstacles to Reach Victim
Upon arrival, the rescue team conducted a search at the end of the breakwater. To reach the victim, they had to overcome a fence that blocked access to the area. The injured youth was found conscious, trapped between several concrete blocks, and complaining of back pain.
Victim Safely Extracted and Transported to Medical Centre
After assessing the situation and the young man’s condition, the fire brigade, with assistance from medical staff and police officers, proceeded to immobilise the victim on a stretcher. They then hoisted him to the top of the blocks, where they continued to provide medical attention. The victim was subsequently transported by ambulance to a nearby medical centre for further treatment.
