In a shocking incident, a British man in his eighties was severely injured by a reversing car in San Pedro de Alcantara, near Marbella. The unfortunate event occurred when the man was using an ATM outside the Unicaja bank on Lagasca Street.
Witness Recounts the Horrifying Incident
According to a witness, a woman had parked her car directly in front of the ATM. As she started her car, she accidentally reversed, hitting the man. The impact was so severe that the man crashed against the bank’s glass wall before falling to the ground. The witness, who saw the incident unfold right in front of her eyes, described the scene as horrifying.
Bank Employee Describes the Aftermath
Elena, an employee at Unicaja, shared her experience of the incident. She recalled hearing a loud noise and upon stepping outside, found the street covered in blood. The sight was a shocking one, she said.
Pharmacy Worker Details the Immediate Response
Victoria Fernandez, an employee at a pharmacy located next to the bank, explained the immediate response following the accident. A fireman, who was off-duty at the time, used his t-shirt and a dog leash to create a tourniquet. Nurses from a nearby clinic administered intravenous medicines to the injured man. The ambulance arrived promptly and the man was airlifted to a hospital in Malaga. The woman who accidentally hit the man was reportedly devastated by the incident.
