Launch of the Marcientífica Educational Event in Marbella
The Marcientífica educational event has kicked off in Marbella, with nearly 500 students from six city institutes attending the opening at the Marbella City Theatre. The event began with a lecture on the realities and myths of nutrition, delivered by pharmacist Gemma del Caño. This event, focusing on the world of research, will run until the 24th of the month.
Continuation of the Marcientífica Cycle with Institutes
The cycle with institutes will continue at the same venue on November 23rd at 12:00 PM, with another proposal. The cycle coordinator, CSIC researcher at the Center for Astrobiology and writer Carlos Briones, will analyze the relationship between genetics and cinema. In this case, the attendance of another 300 students is expected.
Marcientífica’s Main Objective
Marcientífica, which will run until November 24th, aims to present the main advances in research in an entertaining way to better understand the world around us. Later today, at 7:00 PM, Gemma del Caño will deliver a lecture at the Real Hospital de la Misericordia titled “We don’t eat like before, but what do we eat now?”.
Upcoming Events in the Marcientífica Cycle
On November 15th, at the same venue and time, there will be an analysis of the origin of the universe, led by astronomer and Physics and Mathematics graduate Alberto Fernández Soto. The program will continue on the 22nd, also at the Real Hospital de la Misericordia, at 7:00 PM, with milestones in human evolution, presented by biologist José María Bermúdez de Castro.
Artificial Intelligence and the Closing of the Marcientífica Cycle
On the 23rd, at the same time, innovation and digital transformation expert Ruth Falquina will discuss “Artificial Intelligence: Augmented Creativity has Arrived”. This educational cycle will conclude on the 24th, at the Marbella City Theatre, at 8:00 PM, with the concert-recital “Astros, Notes and Verses”, by the duo Flautopía and the cycle coordinator, who will merge art, science, and humanities in the spirit of the so-called “third culture”.
