UK’s Most-Wanted Criminal Arrested in Spain
In a significant development, Spain’s National Police have apprehended one of the UK’s most-wanted criminals in Marbella. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Dean Garforth, was taken into custody in the Malagan city on Monday.
Alleged Involvement in Organised Crime
The UK’s National Crime Agency has linked Garforth to an organised crime group. The group is reportedly involved in the large-scale supply of cocaine and cannabis. Furthermore, it is implicated in the sale of firearms and ammunition. An international arrest warrant had been issued against Garforth, who hails from Liverpool.
Living Under the Radar in Marbella
According to a statement from the National Police, Garforth had been residing in a development in Marbella. He was attempting to blend in with other UK nationals in the area. The authorities apprehended him while he was riding an electric bicycle, donning a cap and dark glasses.
Arrest and Charges
Upon identification by the police, Garforth reportedly rammed an officer with his bike, resulting in injuries to two policemen. Consequently, he was arrested not only on the basis of the outstanding warrant but also for resisting arrest and disobedience.
