Illegal Cosmetic Surgery Clinic in Marbella Shut Down
In a recent development, authorities have apprehended three individuals in Marbella for allegedly conducting cosmetic surgeries without possessing the necessary qualifications. The illicit operations have reportedly resulted in injuries to at least a dozen victims, prompting the police to intervene and close down the unscrupulous clinic.
Investigation Initiated Following Victim Complaint
The Policia Nacional initiated their probe into the matter after receiving a formal complaint in September from a victim who suffered physical complications post-surgery. The police were able to identify additional victims who reported similar medical issues after undergoing procedures at the same clinic. According to the police, some of the victims’ conditions could be classified as serious.
Unqualified Personnel and Inadequate Equipment
The police stated that the information gathered during the investigation, along with the procedures carried out with official health agencies, confirmed that the clinic lacked qualified or authorized personnel to perform these aesthetic treatments. Furthermore, the equipment used was not suitable, and the staff operating them did not possess the necessary license or training.
Arrests Made and Charges Filed
On February 1, the police arrested three managers of the clinic. They are facing charges of causing injury, professional intrusion, public health, fraud, misappropriation, and documentary falsification.
