Marbella Police Arrest Six in Luxury Watch Theft Operation
In a recent crackdown, the police in Marbella have arrested a gang of six individuals who were allegedly targeting tourists to steal their high-end watches. The group, consisting of three men and three women, is suspected of a series of thefts that occurred in Puerto Banus over the summer.
High-End Watches Snatched from Unsuspecting Tourists
The gang’s modus operandi involved robbing tourists of their expensive watches, often resorting to violence. In one instance, a tourist was relieved of his €15,000 wristwatch while he was inebriated in a Puerto Banus club.
Victims Approached Outside Nightclubs
Another victim was accosted on his way to his car after leaving a nightclub. He was approached by three individuals who forcibly removed his expensive watch before making a quick getaway in a waiting car.
Third Victim Loses €22,000 Watch to Female Trio
A third incident involved a man who was approached by three women asking for his assistance. He too fell victim to the gang, losing his watch valued at €22,000.
Police Operation Nets Six Arrests
In response to the spate of thefts, officers from the Policia Nacional staged an operation to apprehend the gang members. The operation was successful, resulting in the arrest of six individuals.
