Official Launch of Renovation Works in Costabella Urbanization, Marbella
The official launch of the comprehensive renovation works for the sanitation, supply and stormwater networks in the Costabella urbanization, located in the Las Chapas district of Marbella, took place this Monday. This project is a continuation of the initiatives previously carried out in El Rosario and Haciendas Las Chapas.
Impact of the Renovation Works on Local Residents
The renovation works will affect 360 homes in the area and are expected to be completed within a seven-month timeframe, as reported this morning. The budget for the project amounts to 3.5 million euros, funded by three parties: 50% by the City Council, 25% by Acosol, and 25% by the community of homeowners.
Visit by the Mayor and Total Investment
The Mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, visited the area and stated that the combined investment, including El Rosario and Hacienda Las Chapas, totals ten million euros.
Comprehensive Remodeling of Services
The project will undertake a comprehensive remodeling of sanitation services, supply, and the removal of asbestos cement pipes. The urbanization’s facilities were outdated, dating back to the 1960s, and had a single fecal evacuation network and few devices to capture stormwater connected to the sanitation network.
Proximity to Streams and the Sea
Interestingly, the homes are located near stream channels and the sea. According to the Mayor, the works in El Rosario are almost completed, and those in Hacienda Las Chapas are halfway through. It was not mentioned that these initiatives originated during the socialist era at the helm of the public company Acosol.
Additional Interventions in the Urbanization
Furthermore, Muñoz indicated that the project also includes interventions in 11 roads, which will have the possibility of having a roadway, in addition to sidewalks and improvements to all the infrastructure of the urbanization itself.
