Marbella’s Luxury Villas: A Tribute to Karl Lagerfeld
Marbella, a city known for its luxurious villas, is about to add a new feather to its cap. The city is set to welcome five villas designed under the design principles of the late fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld. The announcement has stirred up a storm among international property buyers, eager to own a piece of this exclusive real estate.
First Property Sold to Dutch Businessman
Two years after the passing of Chanel’s creative director in 2019, one of the properties has already been sold. A Dutch businessman has agreed to pay €15million for an apartment inspired by Lagerfeld’s designs, even before construction has begun. The luxury developments, backed by a €51million investment, are expected to be ready for their new owners in 2024.
Unique Villas on a 9,000 Square Metre Plot
The villas, each unique in design, will be built on a 9,000 square metre plot of land. However, they have not been directly designed by Lagerfeld. Instead, international architecture house The One Atelier has designed them, following Lagerfeld’s principles and aesthetic. Real estate developer Sierra Blanca Estates is responsible for finding buyers for these villas.
Lagerfeld’s Legacy in Every Detail
According to Karl Lagerfeld’s CEO Pier Paolo Righi, the villas are a reflection of what Lagerfeld would have imagined. His legacy is present in every detail, in the sustainable and responsible architecture. The project’s website states that the villas reflect Lagerfeld’s vision, with architecture that offers breathtaking views.
Translating Lagerfeld’s Vision into Architecture
Michele Galli, head of The One Atelier, explained how Lagerfeld’s vision and principles have been translated into the architectural design. Everything, from the master plans to the smallest interior details, has been carefully researched and implemented in a unique architectural language that reflects Lagerfeld’s life, passions, values, and work.
Luxury Amenities in the Villas
Luxury is a key element in these villas. They will feature private swimming pools, movie theatres, spas, fire pits, white gold powder-covered facades, and photovoltaic panels, among other selling points.
