The award was presented at a ceremony in Alicante on Monday, February 27, under the theme ‘The kitchen fills us’. The restaurant, ‘El Lago’, received this recognition for the first time.

Situated in Marbella, ‘El Lago’ boasts a young and dynamic team that has now secured its place among the top tier of Andalucian cuisine. The restaurant, led by Nerja-born chef Fernando Villasclaras, provides an authentic culinary experience that emphasizes seasonal produce, with a particular focus on vegetables.
Andalucia Ranks Fourth in Number of ‘Suns’
On a regional scale, Andalucia holds the fourth-highest number of ‘suns’, with 65 out of the total 712. Catalonia, Madrid, and the Basque Country occupy the top three positions.
