Return to Competition After Christmas Break
Costa del Voley returned to the competition at Serrano Lima after the Christmas break, with Suac Canarias as their first opponents. Despite being a lower-ranked team, Suac Canarias put up a fierce and evenly matched fight in Marbella. The first set began with a continuous exchange of points, with the home team gaining a four-point lead (13-9). However, the Canarian team made a strong comeback, pushing the match to a final score of 33-31.
Strong Performance in Second and Third Sets
The second set started with a strong performance from Leo Aballay, who scored three direct serves and inspired his team to play a great game. Once again, Suac Canarias tried to intensify the game, but Costa del Voley managed to close the set at 25-22. The third set was decisive, with the team led by Dani Palacios “Chavo” controlling the game from start to finish with impressive partials.
Victory Boosts Costa del Voley’s Ranking
In addition, Marbella’s coach was able to give playing time to less regular players, among whom Guillermo Vázquez stood out. This victory allows Costa del Voley to reach 22 points and move up one place in the ranking, now standing fifth. The team’s next goal is to reach the fourth position currently held by Servigroup Benidorm.
