Marino Villar Triumphs as Champion in 125 cc Category
Marino Villar has once again showcased his talent on the motorcycle in the second round of the Andalusian Motocross Championship held in Osuna. The Marbella-born rider managed to finish on the podium in both categories he is competing in this season, securing first place in the 125 cc category and second place in MX2.
Impressive Weekend for Villar at the Andalusian Motocross Championship
Marino Villar had a successful weekend participating in the second round of the Andalusian Motocross Championship held in the Sevillian town of Osuna. Villar, along with the rest of the riders, faced a challenging race due to the poor condition of the track, a result of the previous night’s rain and wind storm. Despite the difficult conditions and several schedule changes by the Andalusian Motorcycle Federation (FAM), the riders decided to proceed with the race.
Villar’s Stellar Performance Despite Challenging Conditions
In the rankings, the Marbella-born rider secured first place in his category (125 cc), in addition to achieving second place in MX2 Elite and fourth in the mixed general category, which also includes MX1 Elite riders with higher displacement motorcycles. Despite a poor start, Villar managed to make a comeback with excellent riding skills, soon securing second place in his category. Despite having to remove his goggles mid-race, Villar managed to overtake another competitor to finish in first place in the 125 cc category and second in MX2.
Improved Track Conditions for the Second Round
The second round was held with the track in better conditions on drier terrain. Here, the young Marbella-born rider had a good start, quickly taking the lead in the race, where he had to deal with lapped riders on several occasions. Unaffected by the fight with the lapped riders, Marino Villar managed to maintain his pace to finish again in first place in the 125 cc category and third in MX2. As a result, his final result after the two rounds was a victory in the 125 cc category and second place in MX2.
