Ana Cerván Celebrates Victory in La Línea Race

Marbella’s own Ana María Cerván de la Haba emerged victorious in the women’s category of the twelfth edition of the Cresta Sierra Carbonera mountain race. The 27-kilometer race took place this past Sunday in La Línea de la Concepción, Cadiz. Cerván crossed the finish line with a lead of over half an hour over the second-place woman, confirming her absolute dominance in the sport.

Another Success for Marbella Athlete Ana Cerván

This is yet another achievement for the Marbella athlete Ana Cerván, who is an expert in mountain races. Her expertise is evident in her three-time victory in the 101-kilometer Legion race in Ronda. This past Sunday, she achieved an overwhelming victory in the twelfth Trail Cresta Sierra Carbonera, a race in the Andalusian circuit in La Línea de la Concepción, with a positive gradient of 1,100 meters. She finished the race in 2 hours, 46 minutes, and 44 seconds, being the only woman to complete the course in under three hours.

Runner-Up and Third Place Finishers

The second-place finisher, Silvia Fernández Serrano (CD Trail Team), crossed the finish line just over half an hour later with a time of 3 hours, 18 minutes, and 38 seconds. The third-place finisher was Rafaela Román (CD Gecko), who completed the race in 3 hours, 31 minutes, and 26 seconds. Notably, only nine men finished the 27-kilometer long race with a better time than Cerván.

Other Distances and Total Participants

In addition to the main race, there were also shorter distances, and in total, about 450 athletes participated in this race through the mountains between San Roque and La Línea.
