Impressive Performance by Marbella Sport Fishing Society Members at Andalusian Championship

Members of the Marbella Sport Fishing Society put on a commendable performance at the Andalusian Sea-Shore Men’s Championship held last weekend in La Línea de la Concepción, Cadiz. Among the 69 tournament participants, David Alcántara Luna and Raúl Castillo Higuero stood out, finishing in fourth and seventh place respectively, making them the top performers of the team.

La Línea de la Concepción Hosts the 35th Andalusian Sport Fishing Championship

The El Burgos beach in La Línea de la Concepción was the venue for the 35th Andalusian Sport Fishing Championship in the sea-shore casting category last weekend. The Marbella Sport Fishing Society was represented by seven members who performed well, although none managed to secure a podium finish.

David Alcántara Luna and Raúl Castillo Higuero Shine at the Championship

David Alcántara Luna came closest to a podium finish, ending up in fourth place with a tenth and a fourth place in each of the two rounds. Raúl Castillo Higuero finished in seventh place, earning a thirteenth place and an impressive second place in the final round. Both were the best-ranked fishermen from the province of Malaga.

Other Participants from Marbella Sport Fishing Society

Other participants from the Marbella Sport Fishing Society included Álvaro Cabrera Orciel who finished ninth, Francisco Torres Jiménez who ended up thirteenth, Rafael Meléndez Rojas who was 24th, José Gutiérrez Cerezo who finished 27th, and Francisco Muñoz Doblas who ended up 30th.

Javier Martínez Domínguez Crowned Champion

Javier Martínez Domínguez from Cadiz was declared the champion, followed by Benito González from Huelva in second place and Iván Rodríguez from Granada in third place. All three have earned their pass to the Spanish Championship. The tournament saw the participation of 69 fishermen from all Andalusian provinces.
