Marbella Hotels: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity
Marbella’s hotel industry is experiencing a significant transformation, with new establishments emerging alongside long-standing favourites that have undergone extensive renovations. These refurbishments aim to enhance guest comfort and services. Over the past seven years, approximately 290 million euros have been invested in about 50 of the town’s hotels, with preparations already underway for the upcoming high season.
Local Government Support for Tourism Infrastructure
José Eduardo Díaz, the town planning councillor, recently visited the nearly completed refurbishment work at Los Monteros. He praised the town’s “remarkable initiatives for the new creation or remodelling of the municipality’s tourist infrastructure”. Díaz also noted that the sector, which comprises a total of 68 hotels in the town, has seen a significant improvement in its facilities in recent years, enhancing the quality of its offerings.
Los Monteros: A Symbol of Progress
Los Monteros hotel, which has received an investment of 14 million euros, is a prime example of this progress. Díaz described it as a symbol of the modernisation and renovation taking place in the historic area of the town.
Highlighting Other Hotel Projects
In addition to Los Monteros, Díaz highlighted other projects that have been undertaken in recent years. These include the refurbishment of El Fuerte and Club Med Magna Marbella hotels (formerly Don Miguel), the construction in Gualdamina with an investment of around 56 million euros, and the renovation of Incosol with a budget of 87.5 million euros. He also mentioned transformations at hotels like Don Carlos and extensions at Melia Banús and Don Pepe.
New Developments and Future Plans
Díaz also spoke about new developments such as the Four Seasons and the W hotel, as well as future tourism projects, particularly in San Pedro Alcántara. Marbella is increasingly becoming an exclusive destination committed to quality tourism and high purchasing power.
