Marbella’s First Public Elderly Home Nears Completion
Marbella’s inaugural public residential home for the elderly, located in the Trapiche del Prado area, is projected to be finished by the end of 2024. The facility is expected to open its doors to residents in 2025.
Mayor Muñoz Visits the Construction Site
Ángeles Muñoz, the Mayor of Marbella, recently visited the construction site, which is over halfway complete. She was accompanied by Diego López, the councillor for public works.
Facility to Accommodate Nearly a Hundred Residents
The facility, which consists of two separate buildings, will be able to house almost a hundred residents. There are also plans for a potential third building to increase capacity. The budget for the project exceeds ten million euros.
Comprehensive Amenities for Residents
The complex will feature a reception and visitors’ waiting area, a management and administration office, a kitchen and dining room, laundry facilities, toilets and staff changing rooms. Additionally, there will be common areas and public toilets, a living room, a visitors’ room, specialized care areas, a nursing station, a control post, storerooms, and waste treatment and disposal areas.
A Residence with a Special Design
The mayor described the residence as having a unique design with stunning views of the town. She emphasized that the facility will offer all necessary services to make residents feel at home. The project has been a long-standing demand of the town’s residents.
Historical Significance of the Project Site
The project is being executed in a historically significant area, necessitating archaeological work. This has slowed down the project’s progress. Conservation work is also being carried out on a neighboring historic building.
