Water Supply Concerns in Northern Marbella

Residents of several urbanizations in the northern part of the city are worried about the imminent lack of water supply due to the unresponsiveness of the public water company, Acosol. They claim that the water pressure has been reduced due to drought and that their water tanks are being emptied. This issue is affecting at least 300 homes.

Drought Problems in Marbella

The effects of drought due to lack of rainfall are being felt in Marbella earlier than expected, and residents are beginning to fear running out of water for consumption. This is the case for three urbanizations: Hacienda Nagüeles II, Los Granados, and La Caridad, located around Conde Rudi Avenue, south of the highway. They have noticed that their water tanks are being emptied as water has stopped flowing in, although it is unclear when this situation began as no one has informed them.

Residents Reach Out to Acosol

According to local sources who spoke to Marbella24horas, they have contacted Acosol, the water supplier in the area, who informed them that the pressure has been reduced due to the drought. They insist that a solution must be provided and the water supply guaranteed, as if this situation persists, their water tanks will end up empty and they will run out of water.

300 Homes Affected in Northern Marbella

About 300 homes in this area north of Marbella’s Golden Mile, between Alfonso Hohenlohe Boulevard and the highway, are affected. Residents from one of the urbanizations claim that Acosol has told them, in some cases rudely, to complain to the Regional Government or the City Council.

Water Cuts Warning

On January 10, the Western Costa del Sol Commonwealth warned of the possibility of having to make water cuts in the region in March. In towns like Fuengirola, measures such as reducing pressure at night have been taken, although nothing had been announced in Marbella. This digital platform has contacted Acosol for information on this matter, but no response has been received at the time of writing this news.
