Malaga’s Junior Volleyball Team Clinches Sub-Championship in Andalusian Tournament
The junior volleyball team from Malaga has been declared the runner-up in the Andalusian championship. The tournament took place in Cartaya, featuring players Olivia Muñoz from Marbella and Adriana Gutiérrez from San Pedro. The Malaga team fell short in the final against the Almeria selection. Meanwhile, the male team finished in fourth place.
Local Players Shine in Andalusian Championship
Local players who were part of various Malaga junior teams made a significant impact in the Andalusian Championship “II Pilar García Tournament”. The female team, which included Olivia Muñoz from Costa del Voley and Adriana Gutiérrez from Voleibol San Pedro, managed to advance past the group stage as runners-up, trailing behind the Almeria selection. In the semi-finals, the Malaga team triumphed over Sevilla to reach a final where they would face Almeria again. The match was decided in three sets in favor of Almeria, leaving the Marbella players as runners-up in Andalusia.
Malaga’s Male Team Also Features Local Players
The Malaga male selection also boasted several local players. Álvaro Manzano, Javier Viejo, and Álex Milai were called up from Costa del Voley, while Voleibol San Pedro contributed Tarmirkhan Kenbayev. The male team also managed to advance past the group stage as the second-ranked team, facing Cadiz in the semi-finals. The Cadiz team emerged victorious, leaving the Malaga team without a final. In the match for third and fourth place, Almeria once again crossed paths with the Malaga selection. Almeria triumphed in two sets, leaving Malaga in fourth place.
