Shooting Incident in Marbella Leaves One Injured
A recent shooting incident in Marbella has resulted in one person being injured. The event took place on Tuesday, 24th December, near a pharmacy entrance on Avenida de las Naciones Unidas, adjacent to the Cristamar shopping centre, as per police reports.
Victim of German-Arab Origin Wounded in the Leg
The victim, a German man of Arab descent, sustained a leg injury after being struck by at least one bullet. The emergency services were alerted to the incident around 11.30am following several calls from the public, who were thrown into a state of panic by the shooting.
Perpetrator Flees Scene After Firing Multiple Shots
According to sources consulted by SUR, the perpetrator reportedly fired multiple shots before escaping in a vehicle. In the aftermath of the street shooting, several bystanders sought refuge, scattering in the ensuing chaos. The victim was later discovered inside the shopping centre, where he had attempted to hide, leaving a trail of blood behind him.
Extensive Search Operation Launched Post-Incident
In response to the incident, a comprehensive search operation was initiated, involving both the National Police and the Local Police. The Guardia Civil and the 061 health services were also notified by 112 Andalucía operators. After the injured man was stabilised on a stretcher, he was transported to a hospital via ambulance.
National Police Force Opens Investigation into Firearm Incident
This latest firearm-related incident has prompted the National Police force to launch an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the event. Preliminary findings suggest that 22 calibre bullet casings were discovered at the scene.
