Marbella is adding a special L-11 urban bus service for access to Virgen del Carmen Cemetery on 31 October and 1 November, while San Pedro Alcántara’s line 7 will remain in operation for its local cemetery.

At a glance

  • The L-11 will serve Virgen del Carmen Cemetery on 31 October and 1 November.
  • Buses will run from 8.30 to 19.20 hours, with hourly departures.
  • The circular route links central Marbella with several local stops and the cemetery.
  • San Pedro Alcántara’s line 7 will remain available on both days.
  • Several existing routes will serve San Bernabé Cemetery during the public holidays.

Special service for Virgen del Carmen Cemetery

The temporary L-11 service will connect central Marbella with Virgen del Carmen Cemetery.

Ayuntamiento y Avanza will operate a special L-11 urban bus service for Día de Todos los Santos. It will provide access to Cementerio Virgen del Carmen on 31 October and 1 November.

The service will operate exclusively on both days. Its circular route will run between Ricardo Soriano, at the height of Porcelanosa, and the cemetery.

The route will connect Marbella Centro, La Patera, Avenida Duque de Lerma, Plaza de Toros, avenida Europa and the Divina Pastora market.

Operating hours and departures

Passengers can use hourly departures between 8.30 and 19.20 hours.

The L-11 will operate from 8.30 to 19.20 hours, with departures every hour from both ends of the itinerary.

Residents planning cemetery visits should check the direction and departure point before travelling, particularly if they are joining the circular route away from its two termini.

Arrangements for San Bernabé and San Pedro Alcántara

Existing routes will support San Bernabé access while line 7 serves San Pedro Alcántara.

People travelling to San Bernabé Cemetery can use lines L1, 2, 3, 6, 6B and L11 during these public holidays, in their usual timetable.

In San Pedro Alcántara, line 7 will remain in operation on 31 October and 1 November to provide the usual access to the cemetery in that area. The line does not normally operate on these dates.

Why this matters in Marbella

The arrangements give cemetery visitors several public transport options across Marbella.

The temporary L-11 creates a direct public transport option for visitors to Virgen del Carmen Cemetery, with links through central Marbella and nearby neighbourhoods.

Keeping line 7 operating in San Pedro Alcántara is particularly relevant to residents who rely on the usual route to the cemetery there. The additional information for San Bernabé also identifies routes that remain available during the two public holidays.

Readers in Estepona and Benahavis should check the stated official information before planning a cemetery journey to Marbella or San Pedro Alcántara.
