The rugby atmosphere was electric over the past weekend at the Roberto Osborne Field in Marbella with the celebration of the FAR Cup sub-14 XV. The competition saw eight Andalusian teams, including CD Rugby Escoriones Granada, San Roque RC, CD Rugby Mairena, Club Amigos del Rugby (CAR), Universidad Granada, Real Ciencias CR, Club de Rugby Málaga, and Marbella RC.
Marbella RC’s Journey in the FAR Cup
The Marbella team, which participated in the tournament with only one team, began their journey in the FAR Cup by defeating CD Rugby Mairena, despite having a majority of first-year players. The Marbella victory was by 12-0. In the next match, they faced Real Ciencias CR, a highly contested and high-level match from both squads. Throughout the match, the Marbella team was leading by a narrow 5-3, but a mistake in the last minute was capitalized on by the opposing team, resulting in a converted try (5-10).
