Third Round of Andalusian Motorcycling Championship
The third round of the Andalusian Motorcycling Championship took place on Sunday, April 15. The competition was held at the Almonte circuit in Huelva, a challenging course for all riders due to its exclusive sand track and technical layout. The scorching heat throughout the day, peaking at 4:00 PM during the final race, added to the difficulty of the competition.
Marino Villar’s Performance Despite Injury
Young Marino Villar entered the competition somewhat hindered by a fall during training the previous Thursday, which resulted in a back injury. After consulting with his doctor about the injury, the Marbella-based rider decided to participate despite not being at 100%. In the qualifying round, Villar managed to achieve the second-best record in both the 125 cc and MX2 categories, missing the top spot by just 15 milliseconds.
First and Second Rounds of Competition
In the first round of competition, Marino Villar made a great start, securing the first position and even setting a fast lap. However, as the race progressed, his injury began to affect his performance, causing him to lose a few seconds and finish in second place in both categories. The second round was particularly demanding due to the timing and conditions of the race. Despite the strain, Marino managed to recover and compete, taking the lead at the start. However, as the race progressed, he ended up in second place.
Marino Villar Continues to Lead Despite Challenges
Despite the challenges he faced in the race, Marino Villar completed the weekend with two podium finishes, allowing him to continue leading the Andalusian Championship. Next weekend, Marino will compete in the fourth round of the Elite Spanish Championship to be held in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. He hopes to have recovered from his injuries by then and aims to fight for a spot in the Top-15.
