Aldi to Open a New Store in San Pedro de Alcantara

Aldi, the German supermarket chain, is set to open a new store in San Pedro de Alcantara, a town in Marbella. The store, which will be Aldi’s third in Marbella, is expected to open next year. The new location will be a 1,000sqm site situated in the northern part of the town.

Job Creation and Product Selection

The new Aldi store is expected to create at least 15 new jobs. In addition to this, the store will feature 50 parking spaces for customers. Shoppers can expect a wide selection of nearly 2,000 products, with 86% of these being Aldi’s own brand.

Construction Timeline

Construction of the new store is set to begin in October. The project is estimated to take around eight months to complete, with the store expected to be ready for business by June 2024.

Store Location and Expansion Plans

The new Aldi store will be located near the industrial state, adjacent to Dia and Mercadona. This new addition is part of Aldi’s larger expansion plan across Spain. The supermarket chain plans to open more than 40 new stores throughout the country.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives

In line with Aldi’s commitment to sustainability, the San Pedro store will feature 100% LED lighting and will be as energy efficient as possible. The store will use CO2 to run the fridges and solar panels will provide energy for the site.

Aldi’s Presence in Spain

Aldi first expanded into Spain in 2002. Since then, the supermarket chain has opened more than 400 stores across the country, providing jobs for over 7,000 people.
